MEZZIK

Mezzik are non-corporeal, parasitic beings who feed off sentient misery. They are drawn to tragic events and attach themselves to those who are suffering, not only because they need their misery to survive, but also because those individuals are at a weak moment and can be exploited. The Mezzik will stay attached and torment their host to amplify their suffering. Usually, the only means to remove a Mezzik are via magic, telepathy or astral battle. On some rare occasions can they be removed by sheer force of will or by the host achieving a perfect acceptance of the tragic events that lead to the attachment.
