THE MIRAH

An underwater race of humanoid fish men. When the underwater Kingdom of Mir was destroyed by Marten during his Conquest, the few survivors broke into tribes and spread out, while others have always been nomadic. They are humanoid only in body shape and possess fish-like heads and gills with males often having a large horn protruding from their foreheads. The size of said horn often being a recognized sign of dominance and fertility since they have internal genitals. Though they do have functioning lungs for processing air, their ability to breath out of water is very limited. Some Mirah have acquired breathing helmets and/or neck and shoulder mounted pump systems that are filled with water and connected to a tank that oxygenates and flushes the water through their gills, allowing for prolonged out-of-water stays.

Before the destruction of The Kingdom of Mer, the Mirah were a very active part of the Allied Nations. Since its destruction, no tribe of Mirah have worked with the Allies, blaming them for the calamity that befell their kingdom. A sentiment also held by The Rain People of the Maag.
