THE NARI

A human-like, smooth-skinned, nearly hairless race whose skin changes color according to the temperature. They only have mohawk-like hair on top of and to the back of their heads. The women lay eggs and neither males nor females possess nipples. Child rearing is not done by parents in their culture. Once eggs are fertilized they give them to the hatchery to be raised and there are no real familial bonds in Nari society. In their homeland they do not wear clothes, but in other lands they will accommodate the traditions of the native people and wear clothing, but as little as possible. Their bodies run at a higher temperature than most Arcadians resulting in a very low body fat percentage. Also because of this, they do not require clothing for protection from the elements unless the cold is very severe as you would find in the Ice Mountains. Thanks to this low body fat and their skin color fluctuations, Nari women are prized throughout Arcadia by nearly all races (most notable exceptions being The Kren, The Dorno Barbarians and The Jor).

 

They are a somewhat primitive and isolationist society who come from the Southern part of the continent across the Eastern Gap and because of their proximity, they are constantly in conflict with The Trog (who are known to dislike the taste of The Nari, which they find to be very bitter, medicinal and dry).
