THE PACK

A race of incredibly savage and unstable humanoids who seem incapable of healing injuries and who possess very limited life spans. Once their time has come they erupt in a small explosion. Their biology and the mechanism that creates this explosion at death are a complete mystery since no one has ever recorded any medical documentation on a Pack member and they, themselves, do not seem to keep written records (at least none that have ever been found). They do not seem to need to breathe (attempts to drown them have routinely failed) and no one has ever witnessed a member of The Pack eat or sleep. It is speculated that the energy released upon their death is what fuels them. They do not seem magical in any regard outside of their mysterious biology.

They are known to reproduce rapidly and are a menace to any other race who comes in contact with them. Luckily, they mostly inhabit a gigantic cave system in the far Western reaches of the Maag jungle and the Dagth swamp and have limited contact with other races, though Marten was able to organize The Pack and have them attack Prio and The Forest Serene during his Conquest. During this time they were seen navigating large, but primitive boats to cross The Gant Sea for their invasion.
