THE THURSE

An island far from the main lands of Arcadia called Thule is inhabited by powerful, magical beings. Though they look human, they are considerably larger, much stronger (far beyond most exceptional Arcadians) and nearly immortal. The All-Father of The Thurse is Wo-Tan, an ancient, mummified, old man. Stiff and almost completely unable to move, he lives in a deep chamber beneath the palace, laid in a straw bed. Legend has it that he knew and was personally given life by The Creator along with a handful of other, still living beings (like Golgotha) who form a Pantheon of such entities. He, Wo-Tan, is literally the ancestor of every living Thurse. Few in Arcadia even know of their existence but Donar, the King of the Thurse, is known to visit The Storm People of the Maag Jungle who worship him. The Thurse are much older than The Ancients but, unlike most of The Ancients, they do in fact believe themselves to be Gods.
